Fair Isle COMING! Watch out!

I got some knitting done between 9pm and midnight last night. What do you think?

I have to take all the band stuff over today, and I'm dreading that. I don't want a bunch of people clamouring all over me, asking questions, wondering what the real take is. I expect that won't really happen only in my messed up mind that thinks about such things that never end up happening, but I've been thinking about it a lot.

I've decided that I'm really and truly angry for all the time I spent "taking care of business" and really didn't get anything for it. It's not that I wanted anything monetary, and I didn't want anybody to get fired, but I DID want those sergeant's stripes, and deserved them, too. The fact that the pipe major basically says in the letter tells me that I DID deserve them for all the time and effort I put into the band, but he didn't GIVE them to me, and he COULD have and SHOULD HAVE, and that's why I'm most angry about.

Shirlyn, I hope you read my blog, and expect you might.

You were the single biggest brick wall that the band has, and that's a problem. As long as you keep holding people back from realizing their potential, they are going to continue to leave. I will be surprised if the band ever has any growth in the future in order to compete. As long as you are drum sergeant, the band will continue to fail. This is a sad truth. The snare line was unhappy that you held them back. We ended up having to play the same thing for two years! Haven't you got any idea how boring that is for a drummer whose only recompense for the boredom is to change the beat? It's not like we can change the tune, the depth of the drum, the sound that it makes , or the length of the notes...so we need to play with the beat, and you wouldn't allow it.

Ah, rant over. Nothing much else to say.

More time for knitting.

QuiltyBird--it's not a sock!

It's a sleeve.

I suppose it does look like a cuff down sock, but I'm well beyond the calf by now! hehe!
